Bethel Park School District Teacher Kim Debald of McMurray, Pennsylvania has sadly passed away. She died on Friday 17th May 2024 surrounded by her beloved family. She was announced dead by the school through a post that says “It is with very heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of one of our beloved teachers, Mrs. Kim DeBald. Her kindness, warmth, and love touched the lives of all who knew her.” The actual cause of wht led to her death was not mentioned.
Kim Debald Birth and Career
Born on May 26, 1966, in the Brookline neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA, Kim Acquaro was the cherished daughter of Michael and Geri Acquaro. From an early age, Kim displayed a passion for learning and a deep commitment to her community, values that would shape her entire life. Kim’s educational journey began at Brashear High School, where she was known for her dedication and enthusiasm. She furthered her studies at Clarion University, and later at Duquesne University, where she earned a Master’s degree in Education. This strong academic foundation was the springboard for a remarkable career in teaching.
For over thirty years, Kim poured her heart and soul into her role as a schoolteacher in the Bethel Park School District. Her classroom was a haven of kindness and patience, where young minds were nurtured and encouraged to explore their potential. Kim’s influence extended beyond the curriculum; she instilled in her students the values of compassion, perseverance, and the joy of learning. Her legacy is etched in the success and happiness of countless students who passed through her classroom.
Outside of her professional life, Kim’s personal interests reflected her vibrant and nurturing personality. She was an avid cook, delighting family and friends with delicious Italian dishes that were always prepared with love. Her weekends were often spent exploring local wineries and thrift stores, where she enjoyed the thrill of discovering hidden treasures. Kim also cherished her quiet moments, especially those spent floating on a raft in the pool, book in hand and favorite beverage by her side.

Preceded in death by her father Michael and survived by her loving husband of 28 years Jeffrey, her sons Bryan and Vincent, her sisters Kellie (Dave) Herrman, Keri (Donald) Stupka, and her mother Geri. Kim will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend. Services will be held at BEINHAUER FUNERAL HOME in McMurray, PA on Wednesday, May 22nd from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00, PM. A 9:00 AM mass will be held at Our Lady of Hope Parish (St. Germaine) in Bethel Park and Kim will be laid to rest at Mount Lebanon Cemetery. Kim’s pallbearers will be Julia Herrman and Helena, Julia, Emma, Anna and Olivia DeBald.
