Traverse City Elks Lodge #323 Brent Allen has sadly passed away. The news of his passing has left many devastated. He was confirmed dead through a Facebook post made on Wednesday 22nd May 2024 that said ” It is our sad duty to announce the passing of our Past Exalted Ruler Brent Allen due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.”
How did the accident happen?
A 64-year-old man from Traverse City is in critical condition following a severe crash on Wednesday. The accident occurred on Garfield Road near 3 Mile Road, involving a motorcycle and an SUV, according to the Michigan State Police. The incident took place when a 79-year-old man from Kalamazoo, driving an SUV, entered Garfield Road from 3 Mile Road. The SUV intersected the path of an oncoming motorcycle operated by the Traverse City man, leading to a violent collision.
As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was swiftly transported to Munson Medical Center for emergency treatment. Meanwhile, the Kalamazoo driver and his 74-year-old passenger emerged from the accident unscathed. At this point, it remains unclear whether alcohol or drugs played any role in the incident. Brent Allen was pronounced dead from injuries sustained.
Authorities are continuing to gather information and examine the circumstances leading up to the crash. The Michigan State Police have urged any witnesses or individuals with pertinent information to come forward to aid in their investigation.
