Following a car accident in Nelson County on Tuesday afternoon, a guy from Oklahoma passed away. Around 2:00 p.m., according to the Kentucky State Police (KSP), police were called to a single-vehicle collision involving a motorbike on the Bluegrass Parkway. Kevin Long, 58, of Norman, Oklahoma, was riding an eastbound 2023 BMW R1250 motorbike on the Bluegrass Parkway when, for an unidentified cause, he pulled off onto the shoulder of the road and was ejected from the motorcycle, according to the preliminary report released by the police.
On the spot, Long was pronounced deceased. While troopers conducted their crash investigation, the road remained open. The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, Bardstown Police Department, Nelson County EMS, and the Nelson County Coroner’s Office all provided support to KSP on the scene. Investigations into the crash are still ongoing.
