Family and friends have taken to social media on Tuesday 21st May 2024, to send prayers to Kallie and Spencer Wright’s son Levi who was injured in an accident. The community came to gather to give support to the family after Levi’s mother posted on her Facebook page “I need everyone in Beaver to come to my house and help find my son in the water.”
Who is Spencer Wright?
Former College of Southern Idaho (CSI) cowboy Spencer Wright continues to build an impressive rodeo resume, securing another victory at the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) on Wednesday. Wright, who previously won the fourth round, triumphed in the seventh round of Saddle Bronc Riding with an outstanding score of 85 on the bronc named Pretty Boy.
This win underscores Spencer’s skill and determination in the highly competitive arena of professional rodeo. As the youngest of the four Wright brothers competing at the NFR, Spencer has already amassed $68,807.07 in winnings in Las Vegas, with three more rounds to go. His brothers, Jake and Jesse Wright, also made notable performances in round seven, placing third and fourth, respectively. Jesse, like Spencer, is also an alumnus of CSI.
Spencer Wright Rodeo Career
Spencer’s journey to this point is marked by a series of significant achievements. He was the National High School Rodeo Association champion in 2008, and he further showcased his talent by winning the college title for the College of Southern Idaho in 2013. Remarkably, Spencer is the only saddle bronc rider in history to win championships at the high school, college, and professional levels.
Despite his impressive track record, Spencer faced challenges in recent years, finishing 17th in both 2018 and 2020. His entry into this year’s NFR was particularly dramatic, securing the final qualifying spot by earning just $89 more than his closest competitor, K’s Thomson.
Spencer’s support system includes his wife, Kallie, who is a barrel racer and trainer, and their two children, daughter Steeley and son Levi. The family is in Las Vegas, cheering Spencer on as his biggest fans from the stands at the Thomas and Mack Center.
