Prince George, British Columbia – Pioneer of Mixed Martial Art and owner of Galbraith Brazilian Jiujitsu Travis Galbraith has sadly passed away. He died sadly in Willow River leaving family, friends, colleagues and students devastated. He was confirmed dead through a Facebook post that says “Today we mourn the massive loss of PG martial art history with the fighter, the absolute legend, the family man and an amazing friend Mr Travis Galbraith , owner and head Instructor of Galbraith Brazilian Jiujitsu in PG the Gladiator.” The actual cause of Travis Galbraith’s death is unknown.
Who was Travis Galbraith?
In addition to competing in Pride and Elite XC, Travis was a committed and innovative Canadian MMA pioneer who also founded the Galbraith Brazilian Jiujitsu, a BJJ school. Anyone who has ever trained or competed against him can attest to his incredible talent and prowess as an athlete, but he was also a stunning person. He would be the first to provide a helping hand to anyone in need because he had a golden heart. It’s quite hard to put into words what a model citizen he was, someone who frequently gave the clothes off his back. built a lovely family and made sure to never abandon anyone. He was a warrior and a born leader.

A GoFundMe was created by David Mothus on Wednesday 22nd May 2024 in order to solicit help for Travis Galbraith’s funeral and memorial. The goal of the account was to raise the sum of $20,000, as at the time this publication was made, the sum of $8,850 had been raised with the help of 19 individuals.
A statement from the account reads “There is no words to say how tough this is… He passed away in the bush which is where he lived life to the fullest. He leaves behind a wife and his boys and this is just to give them some breathing room to grieve without considering money.”
