Ellwood City, PA:- Jeff Potter, the author of four books, most recently “Forty Roads to Nowhere” has passed away tragically. He was announced dead yesterday, Thursday, the 23rd of May 2024. Coach Jeff Potter, a longtime resident of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania died after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Cooperstown Potter Pirates 2024 released the following statement:
“Yesterday our team learned of the passing of coach, Jeff Potter. We are all saddened by this news and would like to extend our deepest sympathies to his family and friends. We enjoyed our visits with him this past year. He has left an impact on many baseball players over the years. We will be playing in his honour the first week of August in Cooperstown. We hope to make him proud.”
Coach Potter authored four books, with his latest being “Forty Roads to Nowhere”. He wrote for Potter’s Pirates and served as a coach at Potter Baseball. A graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, PA, Coach Potter was born in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, as noted on his Facebook profile. He had undergone a similar surgery, though with more complications.
Upon meeting him and his wife, an immediate bond was formed. Jeff gave copies of each of his four books to his close friend. He had planned to attend one more Cooperstown game this summer. Over the years, Jeff left a significant impact on many baseball players.
