There was no cause of death reported for Peter Mcindoe at the time of this publication. However, his family has confirmed the heartbreaking news. Thoughts and prayers are with his friends, family and community during this difficult time. Peter McIndoe invented the satirical conspiracy theory “Birds Aren’t Real” impulsively in January 2017.
Inspired by encountering pro-Trump counter-protestors at the 2017 Women’s March in Memphis, Tennessee, he scribbled “Birds Aren’t Real” on a poster and concocted a conspiracy theory on the spot as a “spontaneous joke.” A video of McIndoe at the march quickly went viral, giving rise to the satirical movement.
