A man who allegedly stabbed at least one person at the McDonald’s rest area in Plymouth is in custody after leading State and local police on a high-speed chase that ended in a fiery crash. The incident began around 7 PM on Saturday with a report of a stabbing at the McDonald’s. The suspect fled in his Porsche onto Route 3 southbound, crossing the Sagamore Bridge.
Authorities also learned he was wanted for an out-of-state homicide. The chase, joined by Bourne and Sandwich Police, ended when the suspect crashed on Cotuit Road near Asa Meiggs Road. The Porsche was fully engulfed in flames after the crash. Police subdued the suspect and took him into custody.
This is a developing story.
Plymouth is a coastal town in Massachusetts, south of Boston. It is the site of the first Pilgrim settlement, founded in 1620. Plymouth Rock, a boulder in Pilgrim Memorial State Park, marks the place where settlers are thought to have landed on shore. The Mayflower II, a full-scale replica of the ship that carried the Pilgrims across the Atlantic, is usually anchored at the park.
