D.C. Everest Area School District Teacher Quinn Clarke has sadly passed away. He died leaving family, friends and colleagues in shock and disbelief after a tragic accident on Monday 27th May 2024. The news was confirmed through a statement that reads “It is with great sadness that we reach out to you to share that one of our assistant boys lacrosse coaches, Mr. Quinn Clarke, has passed away. We are deeply saddened by this loss to our lacrosse community and we will make every effort to help you and your child as you need. Our hearts go out to Mr. Clarke’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.”
How did the accident happen?
The incident occurred at approximately 1:40 a.m., according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT). Initially, the crash prompted the closure of the southbound lanes of I-39/U.S. 51. However, as the situation developed, the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office decided to close lanes in both directions, necessitating a traffic reroute onto Old Highway 51 between Maple Ridge Road and Highway 153.
