The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office has reported a devastating crash that resulted in the deaths of three individuals. The incident occurred on Monday, May 27, around 2:35 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on State Road 37, just south of Zoo Road. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a severely damaged vehicle that had veered off the west side of the roadway.
How did the accident happen?
The vehicle had collided with a guardrail and then struck a tree, causing catastrophic damage. Unfortunately, all three occupants of the vehicle were found deceased when emergency responders arrived. The Crawford County Coroner’s Office later confirmed that the victims were a father from Perry County and his two sons. The man was identified as Kyle James, while the sons were Owen & Beau.
According to the initial report from the sheriff’s department, the vehicle inexplicably left the roadway, leading to the fatal crash. The exact cause of why the vehicle departed from its lane remains undetermined. Given the severity of the incident, the Indiana State Police were called in to conduct a thorough investigation to uncover more details surrounding the accident.
