University of Alabama football team student manager, 19-year-old Caden Clay passed away suddenly. He was announced dead by the Prosper Eagle Football – ETC in a social media post that says “Prosper Football mourns the loss of one of our own, Caden Clay, a 2023 Graduate of PHS and a member of our Football Family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. The circumstances surroundingĀ Caden Clay cause of death are currently unknown.
Who was Caden Clay?
Born in 2005, Caden Clay was a student manager for the University of Alabama’s college football team. Clay, a native of the Dallas-Fort Worth region, was finishing off his first year at Tuscaloosa. Slightly around an hour north of Dallas, Clay attended Prosper High School. According to his Twitter account, Clay camped at SMU and TCU in the summer of 2022 while playing varsity football for the Eagles.
In the last season under the great head coach, Nick Saban, Clay had the opportunity to work for him and his coaching staff as a freshman. As Alabama recently completed spring practice in preparation for the 2024 campaign, he was expected to continue working with Kalen DeBoer. He was a devoted colleague, a friend to a great number of people, and a beloved son to his parents. Alabama Crimson Tide football are devastated by this loss.

Brooke Webster-Newton in a social media post said “This family lives just a few houses down from us and their sweet daughter is someone Madison has looked up to for many years. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers and they navigate this path without their amazing son, Caden Clay. My heart is completely broken for them. Heather Murray Clay we will continue to share his love for Jesus with everyone we know.”
