Former Indy Fuel Emcee Scott Alan of Kokomo, Indiana has sadly passed away. A 59-year-old man was killed early Monday evening in a tragic crash involving two sport utility vehicles at a rural intersection in eastern McLean County. McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder confirmed that Scott Mcilrath of Kokomo, Indiana, suffered multiple blunt injuries when the SUV he was driving collided with another SUV at the intersection of 1600 North and 4000 East roads, between Anchor and Saybrook, at approximately 5:15 p.m.
Despite immediate response efforts, Mcilrath was pronounced dead at the scene. The McLean County Sheriff’s Office reported that the other driver involved in the collision was a 16-year-old boy. Authorities stated that he was transported to OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington for medical evaluation and was subsequently released to his parents. Both the sheriff and the coroner’s office are actively continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Scott Alan was a beloved figure in his community and had been a cornerstone of the Fuel family from its inception, his voice and presence gracing the team for all 10 seasons. Scott was eagerly looking forward to his new role as the first employee hired for the Bloomington Bison.
His boundless enthusiasm, vibrant personality, and unwavering support for the teams he worked with will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will undoubtedly continue to inspire and cheer us on from above.
