Hollidaysburg PA:- Ellen Yarnell, a 2023 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School has died. She was announced dead on Wednesday, the 29th of May 2024. 19-year-old Ellen M. Yarnell, a resident of Altoona, Pennsylvania passed away at his home following a brief battle with mental illness.
Who was Ellen Yarnell?
Ellen Yarnell was born in Altoona to Todd J. and Rebecca L. (Langenbacher) Yarnell. She graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 2023, where she was actively involved in the band, as well as the music and visual arts programs, and she was a member of the Cross Country team. Ellen was currently studying Speech and Language Pathology at IUP’s Cook Honors College. She was deeply committed to her faith and participated in Young Life. Ellen loved baking, outdoor adventures, spending time with her family, and caring for her beloved dog, Luna.

Surviving are her parents; a brother, Isaac Yarnell; great-grandfather, Ron Wininger; her papa, Michael Langenbacher; great-aunts, Janice Lindsey and Ronda Wininger; uncles, Larry and Waylon Yarnell; aunt, Michelle Langenbacher; cousins: Jamen, Kaleb, Grace and Michele and Jeff Ocker; and many others whom she touched with her kindness and infectious smile, including special friends: Joelle, Rachel, Victoria, Cali, Lydia, Mrs. Clever and Mrs. Watt.

She was preceded in death by grandparents: Nana and Grammy and Pappy Yarnell; great-grandmothers, Nancy Wininger and Betty Langenbacher; and great-grandfather, Edgar Langenbacher.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life service at Hicks Methodist Church. The Rev. Rich Morris will officiate.
