Jackson, NJ – In a heartbreaking incident on Thursday, May 30, 2024, Shmuel Brog, approximately 4 years old, was tragically killed following a severe accident. Shmuel z”l, the cherished son of R’ Avrumy and Ayala Brog, was critically injured when the van he was riding in collided with another vehicle on E. Veterans near Cleveland Court.

R’ Avrumy Brog is widely known as one of the directors of Oorah’s summer camp, The Zone, and Shmuel’s grandfather, Harav Yisroel Brog, is the esteemed rosh yeshiva of Tiferes Avigdor in Wickliffe, Ohio. Emergency responders, Hatzolah paramedics, managed to restore Shmuel’s heartbeat at the scene, and he was swiftly transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Despite their efforts, Shmuel tragically passed away shortly after arrival.
The collision also resulted in the death of the other driver involved, a woman whose identity remains undisclosed. She was taken to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, where she was sadly pronounced dead after also going into traumatic arrest.
