Commodore:- A 20-year-old woman has died following a deadly car accident that happened on Friday, the 31st of May 2024 in St Catherine. The victim has been identified as Brittany Hunter. According to reports, Brittany Hunter, a resident of Commodore, Linstead in the parish passed away from injuries sustained in the motor vehicle crash.
How did the crash happen?
The incident occurred on the 31st of May 2024 at approximately 8:37 am in Jamaica. She was hit by a vehicle while she allegedly walked into the path of a tractor head which was being driven along the roadway. The victim identified as Brittany Hunter was transported to the Spanish Town Hospital where she was pronounced dead. No further information was mentioned. She was a customer service representative, according to reports.

A tragedy occurred in the Commodore district of Linstead in St Catherine late Monday night when 50-year-old Georgia Dwarka was fatally shot by unknown assailants, marking the third gun-related death in the area in three weeks. Neighbours reported hearing gunshots around 11:30 p.m. and found Dwarka lying in a pool of blood at her home. She was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to the Linstead hospital. The motive for her murder is still unknown.
Dwarka had recently expressed approval of increased police presence in her community, having interacted with officers, including Superintendent Hopeton Nicholson, during a walk-through. The community remains tense as police continue to investigate her death and the recent surge in violence. Superintendent Nicholson has named Glendon Amos, also known as “Bull,” as wanted for several crimes in the Linstead area and urged him to surrender, warning that harbouring him is a serious offence.
